Hand-tanned Deer Hide Pouch

CA$666.00

Hand-tanned deer hide, processed and woven by Alexa Black.

Each pouch is made with love, prayers, and protective talismans—featuring unique combinations of crystals, bones, claws, shells, and horsehair. Modern elements such as studs and spikes reflect Alexa’s enduring love for punk rock, creating a dialogue between ancestral practice and contemporary expression. This pouch is lined with rabbit fur and the beading is stitched directly through the hide, intentionally organic rather than uniform or perfectly straight.

The deer holds deep significance for the Nahuat people, who traditionally hunted with reverence, honoring the animal as both teacher and nourishment. These pouches are created as offerings to that relationship, transforming what once sustained us into vessels of remembrance and care.

Every piece is one of a kind, designed to cradle tarot or oracle decks, sacred objects, or to be held as part of an altar or decorative arrangement. These works are delicate and should be handled with care. Intended for ceremonial or display use rather than transport. All items are final sale.
