NEPANTLA POUCHES

Hand-tanned deer hide pouches are woven with love, prayers, and protective talismans.
The deer holds deep significance for the Nahuat people, who once hunted deer in reverence — honoring the animal’s spirit as both nourishment and teacher.

These pouches are created as offerings to that relationship, transforming what once sustained us into vessels of remembrance and care. Each is a one-of-a-kind vessel, designed to cradle decks or sacred objects as part of altar or decorative arrangements. These pieces are delicate — please handle with care. They are intended for ceremonial or display use rather than transport.

Some pouches incorporate vintage silk from Catholic conquistador garments. This fabric symbolizes how Indigenous traditions were veiled beneath Catholic and Christian iconography as acts of survival and continuity.
